Prime Minibus Hire Service Areas

Aylesbury

Buckinghamshire’s county town has plenty of historic buildings, including the thirteenth-century St Mary’s Church. Equally, there’s always something on at the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery (which is also perfect for kids’ parties), Waterside Theatre and Bucks County Museum. Not to mention the Buckinghamshire Railway Museum, which this year hosted the Spring Transport Festival.

Just outside town, Waddesdon Manor is a French-style chateau with period gardens and furniture – it makes a spectacular wedding venue. Alternatives include The Kings Chapel at Old Amersham, just 20 minutes away, or Hedsor House near Taplow, Buckinghamshire, a stunning Georgian country home set in one hundred acres of elegant parkland.

Oxford

Where to start with the City of Dreaming Spires? Whether you’re absorbing the ancient buildings of the university, strolling by the river or in the Botanic Garden, shopping in the Westgate centre or enjoying one of the city’s many first-class eateries, the city’s timeless appeal never wanes. If you’re thinking of getting married locally, you could opt for the jaw-dropping backdrop of Blenheim Palace, the grandeur of the Bodleian Libraries, or one of the many hotels and houses in the surrounding countryside.

If you’re looking for a festival, there’s Witney Music Festival, KITE at Kirtlington Park, Kidlington and Nocturne Live at Blenheim Palace. Further afield, July’s Henley Festival is a five-day, black-tie boutique affair celebrating UK and international music and arts. The Rewind, Truck and Wilderness events also all take place locally throughout the summer.

Bicester

There’s so much to see and do in this historic market town (12 miles north-east of Oxford), surrounded by gorgeous villages of honey-coloured stone and scenic countryside. The medieval church of St Edburg’s is well worth visiting, as is Market Square. Other highlights include the summer music events at Garth Park plus Bicester Village on the edge of town. This hugely popular luxury brand outlet centre has scores of shops from which to take your pick. Equally, there’s plenty of choice for weddings and other big events – or just accommodation – for example, Notley Abbey, Stratton Court Barn or Bicester Hotel Resort and Spa.

Thame

This thriving little market town lies in the heart of Oxfordshire at the foot of the Chilterns. Its rich heritage incorporates medieval, Georgian, and Victorian architecture. No wonder it’s often used as the filming location for Midsomer Murders! Thame Museum is a cracking place to visit, especially on market days, when stalls include those serving incredible street food, while the local calendar is full of festivals and events like Music in the Park.

There’s also a nice range of places to stay, while potential wedding and event venues include places like the Spread-Eagle Hotel or The Oxfordshire.

Milton Keynes

This Buckinghamshire city offers outstanding shopping, wining, and dining experiences, with many places to suit a group outing, including The Casino MK, the nation’s second ‘super casino’, Xscape Milton Keynes, a year-round leisure and entertainment indoor destination. Alternatively, visit the theatre, Snozone (the indoor snow centre) or Bletchley Park, the former top-secret home of the World War Two codebreakers.

You’ll find a wealth of events, activities and more here, whether you’re after galleries, museums, music, sports, or culture. Equally, there’s a huge choice of event and wedding venues, whether you want all-out glamour or prefer small and intimate. Options include Ashridge House, a former royal residence, or historic and renovated barns such as the nineteenth-century Stratton Court Barn – among many others.
